How to use LUTs for your DJI MINI 3 PRO

HOW TO USE LUTS FOR YOUR DJI MINI 3 PRO

So you finally got your brand new DJI mini 3 pro in the mail and now you want to know how to create some really great shots using it.

I’m going to show you exactly how to color grade your footage to create some truly cinematic looking shots using our DJI Mini 3 Pro LUTs

But before we do this, there are a few key settings you need to have right on your drone.

If you don’t have your settings right in your drone, you give yourself a huge disadvantage when you come back to the editing room

The first setting, that you need to get correct on your drone if you need to have your white balance properly set. You have the option, of course, of using the auto white balance built-in to the drone. This does well most of the time. However, there are sometimes where you would not want to use the auto white balance setting.

If your white balance might change as you fly the drone, it’s best to set your white balance manually, rather than letting the drone auto correct itself while filming.

You also need to ensure that your shutter speed is correct. It’s best to do this manually rather than auto exposure since your exposure will update several times while flying.

To get the best quality possible, I prefer to shoot in the D-cine like setting. This will give you a 10 bit color profile and a lot of dynamic range.

Our DJI Mini 3 Pro LUTs will work best when using these settings.

If your settings are correct, and you fly the drone to get some really nice shots, you’re ready to start editing your footage.

Before color grading using our DJI Mini 3 Pro LUTs you will need to color correct and light balance your footage.

If you get the white balance and the exposure correct while filming, this will be a very simple task.

And you simply need to use your level tool to pull up the whites and pull down the blacks until they are at the appropriate levels. You will also likely need to boost the saturation, since the D-cine like profile is a rather flat image.

When you are finished color, correcting and light, balancing your footage, you’re ready to start color grading using our DJI Mini 3 Pro LUTs.

If you did a good job with your color, correction and light balance, adding LUTs for a color grade is simple and fun.

By simply dragging and dropping one of our DJI Mini 3 Pro LUTs onto your footage, you can create many different looks for your film.

We have created several LUTs that work perfectly for your DJI Mini 3 Pro.

Some will give your footage a very cinematic look, some will give it a vibrant, punchy, color grade, and some will give it a much simpler style.

Regardless of what look you're going for, we have a LUT that will work for you inside our DJI Mini 3 Pro LUT Pack
